How do I check for room availability and rates?

There is a 14.75% hotel sales tax plus a $2 per night per room occupancy tax. As of April 1st 2005, an NYC Hotel Unit Fee of $1.50 will be applied. You can check for room rates and availability by going to our Reservations page. A credit card for Incidentals is required upon check in.

Is late check out allowed?

Check-out is noon. However, in certain cases, late check out is allowed. Please contact the Guest Services agent at least a day prior to check out to arrange. Be advised that an additional fee may be charged for checking out later than 12pm (Eastern Standard Time)

How do I get to the New Yorker Hotel from the airport?

We are conveniently located at 34th Street and Eighth Avenue, in midtown Manhattan. You can take a taxi, car service or bus from JFK International, La Guardia or Newark International Airport to The New Yorker Hotel. For the most accurate route from your departure location, please visit the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The site also has a Airport Flight Information Display System that can be very helpful for most of the visitors.

Do you have parking? How much does parking cost?

We have made valet parking arrangements with local parking garages. If you'd like to use this service, just tell the bell-staff upon your arrival. They'll arrange for your car to be picked up and brought back to you upon request. The fee for valet parking is $35 for standard cars and $43 for SUVs.

Reservation Confirmations, Deposit and Guarantee Policy

If you book online, there will be an automatic email confirmation from us. If you book by phone, an email or fax will be sent upon request. All reservations require a credit card as a guarantee.

Cancellations and Charges

You can cancel a reservation by 24 hours prior to the day of arrival. Some group specials require a 72 hour advance notice for cancellation. Be sure to record your confirmation number.

Our Policies

Children 17 and under always stay free in the same room as their parents, grandparents or guardian. Our hotel is completely smoke-free. A $250 smoking fee will apply should the policy be violated.

Payments and Other Charges

Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card. Credit cards are charged at the time of check-out. We charge for no-show reservations. If paying by check, we must receive it 2 weeks in advance of the arrival date. For each room, 14.75% sales and hotel tax, a $2 per night per room Occupancy Tax, and a state NYC Hotel Unit Fee of $1.50 will be applied. Your credit card is required upon check-in.

For all prepaid reservations a $45.00 per night hold will be placed on your credit card for incidentals. NOTE: This hold will be placed on your credit card upon check in, and the held funds will be inaccessible to you until the hold is released on the day of your check out, minus any payment made. For example, if your stay is for 4 nights, and your room reservation was prepaid, the hold amount assessed at check in would be 4 nights X $45 = $180, and this hold will remain on your card until your total bill is settled at the end of your stay.

If your reservation is not paid in advance, then the hold that will be placed on your credit card at the time of check in will be the full amount of your stay (room rates + taxes) plus $45.00 per night for incidentals.

Pet Policy

Small dogs, weighing less than 35 pounds, are allowed in the hotel, subject to a daily cleaning charge of $25 per day, per dog. **The cleaning fee is subject to change during the Dog Show Event time period**

Smoking Policy

As of June 2008, The New Yorker Hotel is proud of the fact that each of our guest rooms are smoke-free. We kindly ask that you help keep our smoke-free rooms just that. Guests found to be smoking in guest rooms will be charged $250 per day for deep-cleaning.
