It has long been said that everyone gains weight during vacations. We eat everything we get our hands on, guzzle down cocktails, wine and beer, and neglect our training regime. If you’re huffing and saying, “That’s not me!” then, this post is for you. If you want to know how to stay on track while staying in New York, this post is also for you!

You’re probably going to visit New York’s most famous and beloved park anyway, so why not exercise while you’re at it? Central Park has roads and pathways that criss-cross that provide runners and cyclists plenty of distance to cover. Try the Central Park Loop, a 6-mile route to tour the entire park or the 1.58-mile running track around the Reservoir.

Tucked in one side of Hudson River’s piers, Chelsea Piers is a sports complex which, like many popular spots in Chelsea, was revamped to create a urban and modern space that anyone can enjoy. You don’t need a membership to join in the multiple sports, fitness and recreational activities, instead check out the Drop-In activities for adults and children. There’s also a bowling alley, batting cages, a skating rink, a spa, a theater, a golf club, rock climbing and plenty more to keep you entertained for hours.
